During last week it was brought to my attention that another student in my class has also done the Hovis brief. They have also chosen to tackle the brief similarly using illustration and pattern. Having seen the products and the designs they have done for their interpretation of the brief, I have chosen to change my pattern designs as they look scarily similar to each other. Therefore I shall be extending my brief, keeping the illustrations I have produced but using them in a different way. I shall try to keep my pattern idea but apply it in a different way. Either by producing a border print on my products, repeat patterns of one illustration or just a single large illustration. I have re-assessed my colour pallet choice and also decided to make my illustrations filled using the nearest colours to how they physically appear rather than just 'bread' colours or two colour. The products I shall be applying my design to will be two of the previous; oven glove and apron, however I shall also be applying my designs to wooden utensils and other material products. They shall be:
- Oven Glove
- Apron
- Tea Cosy
- Place Mats
- Wooden Spoon
- Wooden Spatula
- Wooden Rolling Pin
- Wooden Chopping Board
The student in particular who is also submitting the Hovis brief for their FMP is Lucy Hawkins. Her work can be seen at:
